Mocha Marble Cake



Ingredients

200gm Self raising flour
230gm butter
220gm castor sugar
5 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tsp cappuccino coffee powder
2 tbsp hot water

1. Pre heat oven 180 deg c
2. Mix coffee powder, cocoa powder with hot water. Mix well and keep aside.
3. Sift self raising flour.
4. Cream butter and self raising flour into a smooth paste. keep aside.
5. In a separated bowl cream egg and sugar until spongy. Add vanilla extract.
6. Mix the egg mixture into the flour paste and beat until smooth.
7. Scoop out 1 medium bowl of cake batter, add the mocha mixture and mix well.
8. Line 8 in cake pan with grease proof paper, scoop 4 tbsp of the white
batter in the center of the pan, then scoop 2 tbsp of the mocha batter on top.
9. Alternate the cake batter 2 tbsp of white and 2 tbsp of mocha until finish.
10. Bake for 40 to 45 mins or until cooked.
11. Cool cake on wire rack to cool completely.

    Looks really delicious. Can practically get the lovely scent of your ingredients here, ha ha.
    It's beautiful, Amelia....I'm wondering how you make the lovely mix of colours?
    Anyway, baking and cooking is foreign to me....my ha ha, talents lies else where.
    If I your neighbour, I sure buy goreng pisang or liew lian present you, so get to eat your cake....can what, huh?

    Really? you can smell the ingredients from your place? hahaha you're so cute.
    To get the swirls pattern, you scoop alternately of the cake batter. Please refer to step 8 & 9.
    I can belanja you eat cake no problem but no need to present me goreng pisang and liew lian, please.
    No 1 = I don't eat goreng pisang for long long time since my last job working in hospital.
    No 2 = I don't eat liew lian cos once upon a time trespassing somebody liew lian plantation got chased by parang. :(

    You can use any espresso coffee powder or 3 in coffee powder. If you are in Malaysia use nescafe or old town hazelnut 3 in 1 coffee.

I ended up using the nescafe coffee powder! im a very coffee person so i had to make it a bit stronger :0 other then that this cake is delicious i had to make 2 cakes as me and my husband ate the first one, thanks for sharing this recipe im glad i came acroos it, cant wait until my friend bite into her birthday cake!
